Star of Social Innovation

Established in 2019, China Social Enterprise Service Center (CSESC) is the first comprehensive service platform for social enterprises in China. It strives to build a civil, non-profit, advanced, and open-source data platform for social enterprises. CSESC is jointly initiated by Center for Civil Society Studies at Peking University, Yunus Center for Social Business & Microfinance at Renmin University of China, Yifang Foundation, Research Center for Charity and Social Enterprise at University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, Non-profit Incubator (NPI), Shenzhen Star of Social Innovation Social Enterprise Development Center, and Chengdu Gongyi Social Enterprise Certification Center. The platform will successively unveil new functions, including certification, information, newsletter, cases, training courses, and other modules, which will provide adequate service to users in the coming future.

Star of Social Innovation is the first NPO who majors in certifying social enterprise in China. It dedicates in serving as an incubator with the mission of promoting the development of social enterprises in China. Based on the certification, SSI provides integrated service for social enterprises, including capacity building, branding, consulting, incubation, and impact investing. Entrusted by the China Charity Fair, Star of Social Innovation has been the executive organization to certifying SEs since 2016. Over the years, more than 1500 enterprises and NGOs had applied for the  Chinese SE Mark. By September 2019, 282 SEs had obtained the certification, covering 25 provinces.
